Recently things have started heating back up at @marmaj-research.sputnik-dao.near as we have been working on the Near Antigua initiative. The following will be an update on what's been happening with me. To start off I am supporting the initiative for @marmaj-research.sputnik-dao.near as the ***Student Lead***. It's been two completed weeks (3 days per week) of work so far and the completed work per week is as follows: - Week 1: For this week I was mainly focused on campaigning for an electoral position at my university, a position I won of course. The role is to be the representative of my department in the school and come up with various initiatives to improve student life and value at the school. I also made a draft request to start a Blockchain Club in the University in my department. A few changes will have to be made once I get some more information from the school tomorrow. Then I did some interviews to prepare for a conference called [SIDS](https://sdgs.un.org/conferences/sids2024) that is happening in my home country of Antigua and Barbuda. Other than that was discussions with my coworker @venomity.near on how to reach our quota for active and involved students. - Week 2: For this week I composed a [document](https://hackmd.io/@OYvbC8HsQAq3juRV_SWTVQ/SkVxiucA6) for the expected onboarding process of the students to community and ecosystem built around the various downsides of our geographical position. I then began planning out activities that would encourage the students to stay active and learn more about the ecosystem. The goal is to bring more of the students in to be developers and establish themselves in the community. Naturally as a result I started planning some workshops that the students could take. Some suggestions in that regard would be amazing, I am always open to that. This week was a bit tough on me, since I had some midterms to focus on, but luckily I made it by.
