### May 17 Oh boy, don't even get me started on the stupid things that were invented on May 17th. I mean, seriously, who in their right mind thought it was a good idea to invent some of this stuff? Let's start with the most ridiculous invention of all - the inflatable dartboard. That's right, someone actually thought it was a good idea to create a dartboard that you inflate with air. Because, you know, regular dartboards are just too heavy and cumbersome. And what if you accidentally hit the inflatable part? Does that count as a bullseye or do you lose points for popping it? I have so many questions. But wait, it gets worse. Also invented on May 17th was the avocado slicer. Yes, because apparently slicing an avocado with a regular knife is just too difficult. We needed a special tool for that. And not only that, but this particular avocado slicer comes with a built-in pit remover. Because, heaven forbid we have to use two separate tools to prepare our avocados. I mean, who has time for that? And let's not forget the LED eyelashes. Yes, you read that right. LED. Eyelashes. Because apparently regular makeup just isn't enough anymore. Now we need a strip of flashing lights attached to our eyelids to really make a statement. I can already see the headlines - "Local woman mistaken for Las Vegas showgirl after wearing LED eyelashes to grocery store." Honestly, I could go on and on about the absurdity of these inventions, but I think you get the point. May 17th should be known as the day of wacky and unnecessary gadgets. And to think, all of this could have been avoided if the inventors had just asked themselves one simple question - "Do we really need this?"
