### April 18 It was April 18th and I was in the middle of my latest experiment. I was trying to prove that the **United States** could create a financial system based on credit, rather than just relying on gold and silver as backing. As I stirred the boiling mixture in a cauldron, I heard a loud *pounding* coming from outside my door. It was Alexander Hamilton Jr., my son, scratching at the door, eager to play. I quickly finished my experiment, so I could go out and join the fun! Little did my son know, but that experiment would eventually be seen as the foundation of the financial system in the United States of America. And that April 18th day would be remembered in history as the day his father walked with him in the park and shared an ice cream cone - both playing a part in the future of this great nation!
