I'm tired of using webpack 😫 Builds take a long time, I feel like the bos.config.json injection is pretty janky... even running tests -- playwright runs `npm run start` which takes several seconds. I think we should explore an upgrade -- but I don't know what this should be. In the past, I've tried updating a viewer repo to use [vite](https://vitejs.dev/guide/); but I faced a few challenges with polyfills and the near-social-vm. These are a few items on my wishlist for an improved experience: - Ability to populate default attributes for the `<near-social-viewer` from a JSON config (`bos.config.json`), depending on environment. I think this should be able to happen within a [bos-workspace](https://github.com/nearbuilders/bos-workspace). - Hot reload -- this would be helpful for the @trylivepeer.near [web component](https://github.com/NEARBuilders/trylivepeer.near) @bbface.near @itexpert120-contra.near -- I want to be able to modify the VM custom elements and easily use these updates in local widgets And some relevant recent developments: - bos-workspace now offers a [RPC Proxy](https://github.com/NEARBuilders/bos-workspace/pull/80) rather than using flags + local storage for component redirect map during local development. - This documentation for [Publishing libraries to NEARFS](https://github.com/NEARBuilders/near-bos-webcomponent/pull/10/files) @petersalomonsen.near makes me think about enabling NEARFS urls for the `bos-workspace dev -g ./path/to` [custom gateway flag](https://github.com/NEARBuilders/bos-workspace/issues/90). - @klngrs.near opened a [pull request for federated VM](https://github.com/klngrs/VM/pull/1), with a conversion to use [rsbuild](https://rsbuild.dev/).
